Dr Kim Zambelli began working at Victoria Point Family Practice in 2000 after completing her medical degree at Sydney University and moving to Brisbane to complete her general practice training. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of GP’s. She began her working life as a Registered Nurse and then went on to train as a midwife. Kim is a mother of four boys.
Her particular interests include mothers and babies, promoting breast feeding and supporting new mums.
Having been involved in many different types of sports and activities she is also keen on managing injuries and preventive health.
In line with the Victoria Point Family Practice philosophy of being a cradle to grave orientated practice she also visits most of the local nursing homes regularly.

Dr Bridget Barker joined Victoria Point Family Practice in February 2015. She is extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity by her late father’s – the beloved Dr Noel Barker –patients to allow her to literally follow in her father’s footsteps by continuing his care of them. She has always been inspired by her father and continues to feel motivated by his caring and generous nature and his brilliant mind while practising family medicine in his surgery with his patients. Dr Bridget is very fond of the Redlands area having grown up in Victoria Point.
Once a Redlander always a Redlander.
Dr Bridget holds degrees in medicine, psychology and business. She spent six years working full time as a senior researcher in population health epidemiology at UNSW and UQ before pursuing a career in medicine at Bond University.
Dr Bridget enjoys acute medicine, diagnostic challenges, women’s health, minor skin surgery, optimising people’s mental health and preventative health.
In her spare time Dr Bridget enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking her Irish Wolfhound Cross puppy, reading voraciously and swimming and sailing in the local south Moreton Bay.

Dr Karen Barry has been a local Redlands GP for over 30 years. Following graduation from the University of Queensland in 1983, Karen worked at The Mater Hospital Complex in South Brisbane for two years and then began her GP training working in the Redlands district. She is also an Examiner for The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Karen loves General Practice and has had the privilege of caring for several generations of Redlands families. Her special interests include Women's Health, Preventive Medicine, Care of the Elderly and Travel Medicine.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, as well as hiking, camping, photography and learning Italian.
Practice Manager / Practice Nurse
Kylie has lived in the Redlands for 24 years and worked at the Victoria Point Family Practice for over 18 years. She did her nursing training at St Andrew’s in Brisbane and worked at the Royal Children’s and Logan Hospitals before coming to the practice.
She feels like the patients are part of her extended family and enjoys seeing children grow into adults and seeing the whole family as patients.
Kylie enjoys helping them with their health care needs and providing advice and preventative health teaching. In her spare time she enjoys reading and camping and especially loves to spend time on Straddie.
Annette has lived in the Redlands for the past 22 years, after moving here from Melbourne.
She is married with three adult children and has two new grandchildren. Annette has enjoyed working at the practice for the past thirteen years. To see the young babies grow up through their childhood and adults tell us their stories over the years is what truly makes the practice a family practice.
Debbie previously worked at Victoria Point Family Practice for 16 years and has returned to us after working at a practice at Hawthorn for two years.
Debbie has missed the family feel of the practice and on her return has been made feel very welcome by the long term patients that remember her and of course the long term employees at the practice.
Since her return Debbie has taken on further studies to become a Medical Assistant.
Debbie lives in Wynnum. She enjoys camping and boating, has two adult children and a Border Collie who enjoys long walks along the Wynnum beachfront.
Helen has been part of the team at Victoria Point Family Practice for three years. She received her nursing degree from QUT and has been a registered nurse for over 20 years. She initially worked in the hospital system, primarily in surgical areas, before becoming a Community nurse then a Practice nurse. Helen is passionate about health promotion and preventative health care. She loves living and working in the beautiful Redlands and enjoys engaging with all the friendly patients who attend the surgery.
Exercise Physiologist (ESSAM, AEP)
Daniel is a practising Accredited Exercise Physiologist holding a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology from the Queensland University of Technology. Daniel currently operates out of the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast regions and has particular experience in the treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders and chronic disease (Type 1 & 2 diabetes, cardiac and pulmonary disease). He has done further education in the field of lower back, knee and hip rehabilitation. All Medicare and Veteran’s Affairs are bulk billed and private health extras rebates are available with most health funds.
Abby is easy-going, friendly and ensures her clients feel comfortable, safe and supported in their consultations. She loves to motivate and inspire her clients to enjoy their life and their food while progressing towards their goals.
Abby is a senior Accredited Practising Dietitian and developed a passion for the body, nutrition and fitness as a teenager. Abby places a strong value on getting to know her clients and sees her patients as a part of her extended family. Abby believes in the whole of person approach to nutrition and works closely with her clients to help them reach their goals through targeted and individual nutrition interventions.
Abby attends regular professional development events, conferences and completes personal study to ensure she stays up-to-date with the latest evidence for different diseases, conditions and evidence based research. Abby has a strong passion for improving her client’s relationship with food and their body as well as weight management, diabetes, irritable bowel conditions, sports nutrition and improving the nutrition status of her senior clients.
On a personal note, Abby is a long time resident of the Redlands. She is a self-confessed ‘foodie’ who loves cooking a variety of healthy meals and enjoys spending quality time with loved ones sharing beautiful food and conversation. Outside of her love for food and her family, Abby enjoys going to the gym, hiking, spending time outdoors, reading and spending time on or near the water as often as she can.
Abby runs her Dietetic and Nutrition clinic every Friday at Victoria Point.
